  • Prior to beginning an application - We need you to create an account or log into your account if you have already created one.  If you have forgotten your password, retrieve it here.
  • Fairmont State University only reviews transferable credit from regionally accredited institutions and institutions with national accreditation that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education for acceptance as credit in our academic programs. The most current listing of sanctioned accrediting bodies can be found at www.ed.gov.

  • Admission Communication during COVID-19 - Admissions letters will be sent to the email used when you applied. Please watch for your admissions letters which will be sent from admissions@fairmontstate.edu

  • June 15, 2020 - International application deadline
  • August 7, 2020 - Last day to apply online.  Anyone wishing to apply after this date will need to contact admissions@fairmontstate.edu for an application
  • August 14, 2020 – Last day to be admitted for the fall 2020 semester
Nursing Applicants (ASN Program)

The ASN (RN) program is a competitive program with a priority deadline.  Program admission requires an additional Nursing Program Application. The program includes various tracks throughout the academic year in order to help you obtain your ASN degree in a timely manner.  To find more information on the ASN (RN) program visit the School of Nursing webpage.

To be considered for acceptance into the program a Nursing Program Application and General Admission Application must be completed.

Nursing Applicants (RN to BSN Program)

The RN to BSN program is a selective program with a priority deadline.  Program admission requires an additional Nursing Program Application. In order to be considered for the program you must hold an active unencumbered RN license by the time the program starts.  To find more information on the RN to BSN program visit the School of Nursing webpage.

To be considered for acceptance into the program a Nursing Program Application and General Admission Application must be completed.

Aviation Flight Applicants
The flight program is a selective/competitive program with a fall start only and requires an additional Flight Program Application. This application must be submitted electronically and can be found at www.fairmontstate.edu/aviation-application

The program application opens on the fourth Monday in August at 8:00 am (EST). This program also has additional requirements (please see the website for additional requirements).

Undergraduate Winter Term

Fairmont State is now offering a Winter Term for undergraduate students.  This term will be a five-week term fully online. Students will be able to take one course. This is a wonderful opportunity to catch up on a class the student may not have been able to get in the Fall or take a course to get ahead before Spring. This is also a chance for students to take an internship or work on field experience. Winter Term will run November 30, 2020 to January 6, 2021, with Christmas and New Year’s Day off.

Security & Fire Safety Report

The Clery Act mandates that all Title IV institutions, without exception, prepare, publish and distribute an Annual Security and Fire Safety Report. This report consists of three basic parts: disclosure of the University’s crime statistics for the past three years; disclosure of the University’s fire statistics for the past three years; and disclosures regarding the University’s current campus policies related to personal, property and fire safety.
