Fairmont State donates a record $31,541 to United Way campaign

Fairmont State University has raised a record $31,541 through the annual United Way of Marion and Taylor Counties campaign making it the largest campaign in Fairmont State’s 40-year campaign history.

The 2020 campaign in total raised $503,475 to help the local communities. The University was given the top honor of the event with the “Best of the Best” Award and is the second largest contributor to the local United Way.

Fairmont State to host Hardway Haunt for second year

For the second year in a row, Fairmont State University will be hosting the Hardway Haunt as part of the campaign to help raise money for the United Way of Marion and Taylor Counties from 6-8 p.m. on October 30th. 

This family friendly event will include trick-or-treating, $1 carnival games, raffles and more on the first floor of Hardway Hall. Student organizations will decorate doors and lockers, people will be able to donate money to their favorite one. 

Fairmont State University works to be "Better Together" with United Way Campaign

Fairmont State University is proud to partner with the United Way of Marion and Taylor Counties again for its 2020 campaign and has set a goal of $30,000. 

This year’s campaign theme “Better Together” will resound through campus as faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to find a way to help be “Better Together.” 

Fairmont State participates in United Way's Day of Action

Giving back to the community is important for Fairmont State University and was represented as employees volunteered during the 2nd Annual Day of Action with the United Way of Marion and Taylor Counties. 

Day of Action is a national initiative to encourage communities to “Live United” through service. Executive Director Brett White said this is an extremely important day for the nonprofit agencies. 

Six Alumni to Be Honored as Part of Homecoming 2015

As part of the Homecoming 2015 Sesquicentennial Celebration for Fairmont State University, six exceptional alumni will be honored at the annual Alumni Awards Brunch at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24.
