Fairmont State University Academy for the Arts to host spring auditions for Disney's "Beauty and the Beast Jr."

 Fairmont State University’s Academy for the Arts Youth Theatre Company is holding auditions for the spring production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Jr. for kindergarten-12th graders. Auditions will be held on March 3 and 4, 2023 and group dance auditions will be held on March 4 in Wallman Hall on the campus of Fairmont State University.

Fairmont State University Town and Gown Players and the Academy for the Arts present Jolly Holiday, A Broadway Christmas Revue, and The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, opening December 8, 2022, and running through December 11. With two school-day performances on December 13 and 14 in the Wallman Hall Theatre on the campus of Fairmont State. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening performances begin at 7:30 pm, and a Sunday matinee starts at 2:00 pm.

Jingles, jangles, rhymes, The Hunkitchy Man, The Greedy Old Fat Man, Marigold and more -- you’ll find them all in “Mountain Mother Goose,” an operetta for young audiences.

The production, presented by the Fairmont State University School of Fine Arts, the Town and Gown Youth Company and the Frank and Jane Gabor West Virginia Folklife Center, will be on stage in the Wallman Hall Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, June 8 and 9, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 10. Following each performance will be a reception to meet the composer and the cast at the Folklife Center. Tickets are $12 and are available by calling (304) 367-4240.
