FBI CJIS Official Presents Talk on Campus

The National Security and Intelligence Program and the Open Source Intelligence Exchange at Fairmont State sponsored a special event for students, faculty and staff on Sept. 26.

Assistant Director David Cuthbertson of the Criminal Justice Information Services Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation visited campus and presented a talk on “The FBI’s CJIS Division: Providing Identity Intelligence to Our Partners in Law Enforcement.”

Grant from Lockheed Martin Supports OSIX Program

Congressman McKinley Visits NSI Program

U.S. Rep. David McKinley visited Fairmont State University on Thursday, April 5, to speak to students in one of Dr. Greg Noone’s National Security and Intelligence classes and to tour the Open Source Intelligence Exchange lab, directed by David Abruzzino. OSIX is the laboratory and applied research component of the University’s National Security and Intelligence program. FSU is the first University in the state to offer a program of this kind.

Intro to Global Perspectives Students Travel to Canada

As part of the Introduction to Global Perspectives course, which offers students a chance to familiarize themselves with cultures and concepts outside their own, 11 students and two instructors from Fairmont State University spent their spring break in Canada. This trip, which offered many students their first international experience, was funded by a grant from the Consortium for Internationalizing Higher Education, part of the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission.
