Fairmont State University’s senior Emily Gersper earned a spot as a finalist for the West Virginia Collegiate Business Competition, the first finalist to come from the University, and then went on to break the Feaster Center Pool 100-yard breaststroke record on Friday, January 31, 2020.  

Fairmont State donates a record $31,541 to United Way campaign

Fairmont State University has raised a record $31,541 through the annual United Way of Marion and Taylor Counties campaign making it the largest campaign in Fairmont State’s 40-year campaign history.

The 2020 campaign in total raised $503,475 to help the local communities. The University was given the top honor of the event with the “Best of the Best” Award and is the second largest contributor to the local United Way.

This year’s campaign theme “Better Together” will resound through campus as faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to find a way to help be “Better Together.”

Fairmont State University Head Men's and Women's Swimming Coach Patrick Snively recently earned a Level 5 certification from the American Swimming Coaches Association of America (ASCA), the highest level achievable.
 

Women's Swimming Team Earns Academic Award

 Fairmont State's women's swimming team has been named a Scholar All-America Team by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).

To qualify as a CSCAA Scholar All-America squad, teams must post a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the previous semester. Fairmont State had a team grade-point average of 3.12. The Falcons were one of 34 teams in NCAA Division II to qualify for the recognition.
