Fairmont State University Students Elected to Student Government Association

Members of the Fairmont State University student body have elected a group of their fellow Falcons to Student Government Association leadership positions for the upcoming year.  

Those individuals chosen to represent their peers are Zach Taylor, SGA President, Isaac Leech, SGA Vice President, Mackenzie Sorton, SGA Secretary and Clay Burrows, SGA Treasurer. The newly elected officers were officially sworn in to their positions during a virtual ceremony last month.

“I love West Virginia, and never plan on leaving,” he said. “There’s a lot of potential here and I want to see it grow and thrive.”

Fairmont State University’s Student Government Association announced the 2019 Senior Campaign —Beautify the Bell—during a kick-off even held today in The Falcon Center. 

Senior Raychel Fitzwater, and acting Student Government Association president, said they chose the project to create a brick patio and seating area around the bell. They feel this is a great way to honor the Victory Bell’s upcoming 80th anniversary on campus. 

Fairmont State senior to serve as an intern for the Higher Education Policy Commission

Dillon Bradley, Fairmont State University senior and president of the Fairmont State Student Government Association, has ben chosen as an intern for the Higher Education Policy Commission. 

As a double major in national security and intelligence and political science, he is looking forward to better understanding education and its ties with the political system.

West Virginia Dance Company to Perform at FSU

Fairmont State University announces the upcoming performance of the West Virginia Dance Company (WVDC) at Wallman Hall Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 6. The performance is free and open to the public.

Since 1977, the WVDC has toured throughout West Virginia, as well as 14 other states, with professional arts-based learning programs. Performing for tens of thousands annually, the WVDC performs a thorough blend of entertaining and thought-provoking modern works.
