The Fairmont State University Wind Ensemble will host a special online live streaming event on October 15 at 7:30 p.m. The Wind Ensemble will perform a diverse collection of composers, under the direction of Greg Mulzet.
The Fairmont State University Department of Music is excited to announce, “Composers of America” presented by the Fairmont State Wind Ensemble. The concert will be performed in the Wallman Hall Auditorium on the campus of Fairmont State on Wednesday, March 6 at 7:30p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.
The Fairmont State University department of music is excited to announce the final Wind Ensemble concert of the spring semester. The concert will be performed in the Wallman Hall Theatre on the campus of Fairmont State on Wednesday, May 2, at 7:30 p.m.
The Fairmont State University Wind Ensemble will present “Every Song Tells a Story” on Wednesday, May 3, at 7:30 p.m. in the Wallman Hall Theatre. Admission to the concert is free and open to the public.
The program contains traditional and contemporary wind literature that has been inspired by religious text, folksongs and poetry. Selections composed by James Curnow, Larry Daehn, Frank Ticheli, Gustav Holst and John Philip Sousa will be featured in the concert.
The Fairmont State University Department of Music will present for its Spring Gala the cantata “Carmina Burana,” on Saturday, April 26, performed by the Fairmont State Collegiate Singers, Community Chorus and Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Valarie Huffman. Also featured will be the Chanticleer Children’s Chorus of West Virginia. The professional soloists for the concert will be soprano Mandy Spivak, tenor Alec Carlson and baritone Paul Kreider.
Under the direction of Dr. Valarie Huffman and Matthew Schoonmaker, the Fairmont State University Wind Ensemble will present the Mid-Winter Concert: “Around the World in 80 Minutes or Less…” at 8 p.m. Thursday, March 8, in Wallman Hall Theatre.
The Fairmont State University Wind Ensemble will present an unusual concert, “Things That Go Bump in the Night,” conducted by Valarie Huffman and Matthew Schoonmaker,on Wednesday, March 9, at 8 p.m. in Wallman Hall Theatre on the main campus.
