Find FAFSA Help on FSU Campus or at College Goal Sunday

West Virginia students can get free help completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and other college financial aid forms during College Goal Sunday on Sunday, Feb. 21, from 1 to 4 p.m. at 25 locations across the state, including the Gaston Caperton Center, 501 West Main St., Clarksburg.

The Gaston Caperton Center in Clarksburg will be one of multiple locations throughout the state to host the annual College Goal SundaySM event on Sunday, Feb. 15, presented by the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission.

The College Foundation of West Virginia (CFWV), the West Virginia Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators and several other college access programs work together to coordinate the event.

This week, Oct. 20 through 24, is West Virginia's fifth annual “College Application and Exploration Week.” Nearly 240 elementary schools, middle schools, high schools and adult basic education sites across the state have signed up to participate this year.

The Gaston Caperton Center in Clarksburg will be one of 25 locations throughout the state to host the annual College Goal SundaySM event on Sunday, Feb. 9, presented by the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission.

Gov. Tomblin Declares College Application and Exploration Week

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Governor Earl Ray Tomblin has designated the week of Oct. 14 as “College Application and Exploration Week” in an effort to help students prepare for college. More than 150 schools across the state will participate by hosting a variety of hands-on college planning activities including college application workshops, panel discussions with current college students, and college scavenger hunts and trivia contests.

FSU to Host Open House for Adult Students on Aug. 1

A college diploma can open up new career opportunities for working adults. Economic projections indicate that by 2018 more than 49 percent of jobs in the state will require education or training beyond high school, but only 26 percent of West Virginians have completed an associate or bachelor’s degree.

Fairmont State University is hosting an Open House for Adult Students on Aug. 1 for those considering finishing a degree started earlier in life or beginning a new degree.
