Fairmont State University’s Elementary Education program has been recognized by PraxisExam.org for having one of the best Praxis Elementary Education pass rates in the state of West Virginia. 

Dr. Julia dos Santos, Fairmont State Exercise Science Assistant Professor, is using her expertise to create opportunities for students to gain valuable experiences beyond the traditional classroom setting. With more than 60 research publications, dos Santos has worked to establish collaborations with Fairmont State students and international faculty to ensure all her students have publications in national journals upon graduation.

Fairmont State University has recently been ranked to have one of the Best Online & Education Teaching Degree Programs by study.com and one of the Most Affordable Online Colleges for the Master of Education in Multi-Categorical Special Education program by OnlineU.org. 

Fairmont State University is among five traditional undergraduate programs in West Virginia to earn an A from the National Council on Teacher Quality (NCTQ) in the 2020 Teacher Prep Review. 

The new data and analysis from the NCTQ found significant progress on adoption of scientifically-based methods for teaching reading by the nation’s teacher preparation programs with West Virginia ranking 15th in terms of the average score achieved by its programs. 

Fairmont State University is proud to offer an online Educational Leadership Certificate beginning in the fall of 2019 to help prepare those with a Master’s degree for a leadership position in education.
