Fairmont State University’s University Relations and Marketing team was awarded the John H. Womack, Jr. Chapter Service Award by the West Virginia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA-WV) during their annual awards event. 

The award is named for a long-time member and Awards chair John Hunter Womack, Jr. who gave so much to the chapter throughout the years. President-Elect Rachel Coffman said the award is a way to honor his memory. 

The West Virginia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America honored Fairmont State University with five awards at its 2013 Crystal Awards Gala.

Higher Education Day at the Legislature on March 21 was held at the State Capitol to recognize West Virginia’s higher education institutions and to provide information to potential students, policymakers and the general public regarding the postsecondary education opportunities available in West Virginia. 

The West Virginia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America honored Fairmont State University with three awards at its 2012 Crystal Awards Gala, which acknowledges the best work of 2011.

This fall, Fairmont State University students had an opportunity to be the first student in recent history to have their artwork featured on the University president’s holiday card. Students were asked to submit a drawing, photograph or digital image that they created to appear on the card.
