As 2018 began, so did a new day for the Fairmont State Foundation and the Fairmont State Alumni Association with the hiring of Ashley Knight, 2015 Fairmont State graduate, in the role of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations Coordinator. 

At the annual end-of-the-year picnic for Fairmont State University faculty and staff, RJ Gimbl, President and CEO of the Fairmont State Foundation, surprised FSU President Maria Rose with a special gift from the FSU community. Gimbl announced the creation of the Maria C. Rose Endowed Scholarship for first generation college students.

Fairmont State University alumnus Dr. William Mark Hart and his family have established four Impact Scholarships through the Fairmont State Foundation.

A $2.55 million gift, the largest in Fairmont State University history, will support scholarships for FSU students through the Elva V. Schoolnic Trust, according to Gary K. Bennett, Trustee. 

The Fairmont State University Career Development Center officially will be named the BrickStreet Career Development Center during a ceremony on Thursday, Sept. 29, to honor the BrickStreet Foundation for its commitment to funding scholarships for FSU students.

Fairmont State University will hold a dedication ceremony for the Veterans Memorial Plaza, located along the traffic circle behind the Falcon Center.

Fairmont State University’s outstanding faculty members were recognized on Wednesday, April 27, during the Recognition of Faculty Achievement luncheon for their exemplary efforts throughout the 2015-2016 academic year.

A $1 million gift from BrickStreet Foundation to the Fairmont State Foundation, Inc., will create a new scholarship fund for Fairmont State University students.
