Fairmont State University is meeting the challenge of educating professionals in a variety of fields including architecture, criminal justice, business and multiple areas within the field of education. Many fields that once employed graduates with bachelor’s degrees now prefer to hire those with master’s degrees. Choosing to pursue a master’s degree program at FSU represents a commitment to excellence, personal growth and lifelong learning.

A total of 1,208 students have been honored for their academic achievement at Fairmont State University after completing the fall 2015 semester.

The Fairmont State University School of Business honored students for their academic achievement at the Delta Mu Delta Induction Ceremony and Scholarship and Award Presentations at the end of the spring 2015 semester.

Dr. Richard Harvey is Dean of the School of Business, and Dr. Timothy Oxley is Associate Dean. Alumnus Gary LeDonne presented remarks during the event. Teresa Dalton was named Adjunct Instructor of the Year and Leisa Muto was named Professor of the Year.

A total of 1,022 students have been named to the Dean’s List at Fairmont State University after completing the spring 2015 semester.

Fairmont State University’s outstanding faculty members were recognized on Wednesday, April 29, during the Recognition of Faculty Achievement for their exemplary efforts throughout the 2014-2015 academic year.

About 400 students will participate in the 146th Commencement for Fairmont State University at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 16, in the Feaster Center.

Fairmont State alumna Donna Hopkins will be the Commencement speaker. Bryan Foley of Pipestem will be the student speaker representing the Class of 2015.

The Fairmont State University School of Business has been selected as the West Virginia host for the SBA InnovateHER Business Challenge. 

“Although the InnovateHer Business Challenge was designed to operate with a tight timeline, it is a great opportunity to help launch innovative products and services that could positively impact and empower the lives of women and families,” said Gina Fantasia, Director of the University Business Center, FSU School of Business. 

Fairmont State University Accounting students are providing free income tax preparation assistance in four counties and receiving real-life experience to benefit them in their future careers.

Starting in the fall, students who live and work in Harrison County will have the opportunity to complete a four-year degree in Business Administration at the Gaston Caperton Center in Clarksburg by taking evening classes.

A total of 1,130 students have been named to the Dean’s List at Fairmont State University after completing the fall 2014 semester.
