In partnership with the Tygart Valley United Way, The Day of Action is a service opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to participate in various on and off-campus community events. The service completed on our Day of Action directly impacts our local region and the University. Registrants will have the opportunity to give back, gain service hours, receive a boxed lunch, free t-shirt, water bottle, and enjoy live music and ice cream. Registrants will have the opportunity to pick from 5 different options on or off-campus. Transportation will be provided for off-campus activities. Bus pick up and drop off for off-campus service opportunities will be at the Bryant Place 1st floor/Street Entrance.

Event Schedule

  • 12:00 p.m. — Check-in at Registration Tent-Falcon Center Quad
    • We want to see 200+ students, faculty, and staff participate in Service!
    • Students, faculty, or staff who participate receive:
      • Service Hours
      • Boxed Lunch
      • T-Shirt (Day of Action)
      • Live Music, and Ice Cream
    • Every participant receives identifying lanyard
  • 12:30 p.m. — Remarks from Dr. John DeVault and Dr. Dianna Phillips 
  • 12:45 p.m.  — Group photo
  • 12:50 p.m.  — Depart from Campus 
  • 1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m —  Provide Community Service at United Way Agencies 
  • 3:45 p.m.— Department United Way Agencies 
  • 4:00 p.m. — Return to campus
