Fairmont State University Community Arts program announces Spring 2023 schedule

Fairmont State College of Liberal Arts, Performing and Community Arts announces an exciting lineup for the Spring 2023 season. In addition to the five large-scale performances, children and adults can join in and explore the performing and visual arts this fall through various community opportunities.

Fairmont State University to resume Falcon Day Camp this summer

Fairmont State University prepares to host its Falcon Day Camp this summer for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic. The Falcon Day Camp is a 6-week summer day camp for children ages 6-12 years old. The day camp will take place from June 19 to August 4 with a week break during the week of July 4.

Fairmont State University is moving along right on schedule as it conducts a national search for its next president, aided by search firm Buffkin/Baker. 

“The Committee is thankful for all of the work Buffkin/Baker has done for and alongside us,” said Dr. Chuck Shields, search committee tri-chair. 

Black Diamond Philharmonic Orchestra to be welcomed back to Fairmont State University March 23

Fairmont State University Community Arts welcomes back the Black Diamond Philharmonic Orchestra (BDP) on Thursday, March 23, at 7:30 p.m. in the Wallman Hall Theatre for their concert “Going Home” at Fairmont State University. 

Fairmont State University selects 2023 Presidential Scholarship winners

Three incoming Fairmont State University freshmen have been selected as the recipients of Fairmont State’s premier academic scholarship, the Charles J. McClain Presidential Scholarship. Sophie Stuart from Jefferson High School (Charles town, W.VA), Hailey Jordan from Fairmont Senior High School (Fairmont, W.VA) and Jayden Sharps from Scott High School (Madison, W.VA) are this year’s Presidential Scholars and will be joining the campus community this fall.
